Here husband and wife team, Darran Smith and Ilona Phyland-Smith have created a unique dining experience - the Australian yum cha. Diners are invited to order from the 'trolley' before turning to the main a la carte menu. It's truly a unique dining experience and one that will leave you with major food envy as you spy on your fellow diners and their decadent choices. (Guess you'll have to come back more than once!) Yum cha service is currently available on Sundays from 11AM in an all you can eat format, while the a la carte option is always available at other times.
Smith has been in the hospitality industry for 20 years and believe the diners experience is paramount. He wants The Roving Marrow’s approach to food to come from a completely different place than what’s commonly available in upmarket restaurants. The food ranges from delectable cold options like delicately prepared oysters to the Chinese roasted pork belly with red pepper, cabbage & buttermilk, oh and don't forget about the cheese and dessert options - both are worth a look in. The team were also recently awarded a Chefs Hat - a huge achievement considering it's their first year!
